The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has approved the academic schedule for the 2025-26 session, setting April 7, 2025, as the official start date instead of August 1.
In a recent steering committee meeting, officials decided that board exams for classes 9 and 10 will be held in April, with practical exams scheduled for March. Intermediate examinations are set to begin on April 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Assembly has re-approved the Sindh Universities Amendment Bill 2025 despite opposition resistance. The bill, initially rejected by Governor Kamran Tessori, was passed again, overriding his objections. The legislation allows serving bureaucrats to be considered for vice-chancellor positions in public universities.
With the bill’s re-approval, the governor is now required to give his assent under the Constitution. Opposition parties, particularly MQM lawmakers, strongly protested the bill during the session, raising concerns over its implications for university leadership.
