The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an upgraded B-Form for children aged 10 and above, featuring advanced security measures.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that the revamped B-Form will now include photographs and fingerprints as mandatory elements, a first for this document.

According to a statement by the Interior Ministry, these updates aim to safeguard children’s identity information and combat issues like fraudulent identity cards, illegal passports, and human trafficking.

The rollout of the new B-Form will begin gradually on January 15, requiring children to visit a NADRA center accompanied by a legal guardian or parent. Essential documents include the child’s computerized birth certificate and the parent’s computerized national identity card.

Once the process is completed, a B-Form with the child’s photograph and fingerprints will be issued.

This updated form will also be mandatory for obtaining new passports, as older B-Forms lacking biometric details will no longer be accepted.

Additionally, the Ministry of Interior plans further reforms, such as integrating iris scans and enhancing identification measures at the union council level. Improvements to the Pak ID mobile app are underway, alongside plans to issue digital IDs to all citizens.
