Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has raised alarms over the country’s political trajectory, claiming that Pakistan is on the verge of a revolution.

Speaking from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where he is currently detained, Khan accused the current government of mismanaging the economy and now attempting to dismantle the judiciary.

He added that he would like to “die in prison, but will not accept slavery”.

Khan issued a call to action, urging the public to take to the streets on September 8 in protest against what he described as an effort to enslave the nation. Reflecting on the worsening crisis in Balochistan, he echoed Akhtar Mengal’s concerns, stressing that military solutions would not solve the issues.

Instead, Khan advocated for letting local leaders govern, saying that the province’s challenges were being exacerbated by political puppets.

In his remarks, Khan questioned the ongoing counter-terrorism operations, which have been in place since 2004. He argued that these efforts have not yielded significant results, and instead, security forces are now being used to suppress his party, PTI. He went on to claim that those in power are more focused on protecting their wealth abroad than on resolving Pakistan’s internal issues.
