On November 8, 2023, Moeez Ahmed Khan, owner of Top City, filed a Supreme Court petition accusing Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed of misusing his authority. The petition alleged that on May 12, 2017, at Faiz’s request, ISI officials raided Khan’s office and home, seizing valuables such as gold, diamonds, and money.
The petition also mentioned that Sardar Najaf, Faiz Hameed’s brother, contacted Khan to address the issue. It claimed that Gen Faiz later met Khan, promising to return some items taken during the raid, but said that 400 tolas of gold and cash would not be returned. Furthermore, the petitioner alleged that ISI officials extorted Rs4 crore from him.
The Supreme Court highlighted the gravity of the allegations and their potential to harm the institution’s reputation. It instructed the attorney general to investigate the issue and coordinate with the relevant authorities.
