Court issues Notice to Nab in Ishaq Dar Case

Court Notifies NAB for Dar

Ishaq Dar, the recently appointed finance minister, presented himself before the accountability court and filed a petition asking for the dismissal of his arrest warrants. As a result, the court today (Wednesday) handed a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The judge subsequently gave the NAB notice and instructed Dar to show up in court on October 7.

“We will hear the application for cancellation of warrants along with assets’ reference,” the judge remarked.

Due to Dar’s persistent absence from the proceedings, he was identified in a NAB reference as a proclaimed offender in 2017.

Dar was charged by NAB for having assets out of proportion to his recognised sources of income.

NAB brought the case after the Supreme Court’s decision in the Panama Papers case on July 28.

Dar travelled to the UK that same year to receive medical attention. He remained there for over five years until arriving back in Pakistan on Monday.
