CDA seals offices of illegal housing societies

The administration offices of an illegal housing society along the Islamabad Expressway were shut on Thursday by the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Planning Wing, stopping the sale, purchase, and transfer of plots.

The planning division of the CDA has already deemed all phases of this housing society illegal because neither the layout design for it nor the management’s NoC were allowed.

According to The News, CDA’s Director of Regional Planning also sent a letter regarding this in addition to physically closing the office.

The management of the housing organisation allegedly sold and transferred plots despite being warned about their illegal behaviour, which led the authorities to pursue enforcement action.

The offices of the housing society have been shut as a result of violations of the CDA Ordinance 1960, ICT Zoning Regulations 1992, and ICT Building Control Regulations 2020.

The CDA planning wing has also urged the PTCL, Islamabad Electric Supply Company, and Sui Gas Northern Gas Company not to provide its services throughout the entire private housing complex.

In a related development, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sent notifications to twelve unregistered housing societies in the Rawalpindi region.

The RDA’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MPTE) Directorate has sent notices to New Metro City, Smart City, Prism Town, Capital Valley, Life Residencia, Seven Enclave, Manan City, Lake View City, Faha Fatima, Park Zameen Town, Hawks Melbourne City, and Kashmir Valley.

The warnings were distributed in accordance with the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. The RDA has asked these societies to provide NOCs, mortgage deeds, and surrender deeds. If not, legal action will be taken against them.
